Going abroad to ski!

I’m so excited! My whole ski group is planning a trip to Switzerland. We are looking into cheap group rates for our flights and are going to book Swiss ski chalets large enough for a group of us to stay. This way we can share expenses. We have to plan ahead because the nicest hotels or chalets get booked very quickly. In fact, many people book their next year’s trip when they’re paying the bill at the end of their current ski trip.

I’ve decided since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I’m going to go all out. I’ve been needing new skis for a while now, and my old red ski jacket has a big tear at the cuff. No way I’m wearing that on vacation, so I’ll be searching for good deals on ski wear and intend to get new pants, ski jacket and accessories.

I’m sitting here looking at my livingroom and I love everything about it. Let’s be honest I love everything about my house. It fits me. It’s not too big and it’s not too small. But with everything in your life there’s always something that needs to be redone. Which brings me back to my living room. everything is done in a modern country chic motif. I love it! But my windows are bare! There’s nothing on them to block the sunlight or even my nosey neighbors. I need to go window blind shopping. Looking and getting blinds Chester should be fairly easy, espcially since I know what kind I want. I love those dark brown colored blinds. They would go lovely with my living room theme. Plus when the sun is too bright, the dark color and the thickness of the blinds will help keep the sunlight out.

Calm, Cool, and Collected

I am so tired of hearing about primary assemblies from every other parent in town. I agree that the new assemblies are great, but is it really worth a week of conversations? Every time I run into a fellow parent of the school that is exactly what they bring up. I understand the concern for our children’s education, but some parents go completely overboard with their concerns and how they express them. There is a parent teacher meeting coming up next week and I am not sure I want to go. I am positive that the whole meeting will consist of mothers bickering back and forth and teachers trying to reassure them in a fashionable manor. I myself am calm, cool, and collected, so maybe my presence there would be helpful towards some of the other mothers there.

A friend of mine is getting married in a castle in Scotland and I’ve been invited to attend. How cool is that? This is an exciting occasion and there is a lot that has to be done. This is going to be my first trip to Scotland.

Edinburgh is the second largest city in Scotland and its the seat of the Scottish parliament. I understand that parts of Old Town are said to still have a medieval feel. Of course, probably nothing can be more medieval than a castle.

You can guess that the wedding has me very excited. I’m looking forward to attending a wedding in a castle, helping her find hotels in Edinburgh for all of the guests and making lists of places to visit.

I already know that the couple will have their ‘happily ever after’. Getting married in a castle is a fairy tale come true.

Visit Dorking in Surrey
